It’s not just about documenting the artwork—it’s about capturing the soul of the exhibit, the stories behind the pieces, and the personal perspective each artist brings to the table.

For me, it’s an exciting opportunity to immerse myself in their world, to understand their vision, and to translate that experience into photographs that speak just as powerfully as the art itself. Every shot is an exploration of the space, the materials, and the emotions that make the art come alive.

The other day, I had a photograph snapping visitor in the studio. The sun was shining beautifully and I got to play with branches and stones all day, while Beverley was, click click click click capturing my work.

The branch Beatrijs is holding here, she calls the Long Branch. Although she already has many longer branches in the collection by now, this long branch gets its own book: the long-branch-book (OG: ‘het lange-takke-boek’)
